Whether an injury is old or new, from acute trauma, overstrain, repetitive use or daily life activities, sports medicine acupuncture can help to restore muscle balance so that you can get back out there and do what you love.

Sports medicine acupuncture treats a wide range of musculoskeletal issues ranging from pulled/torn hamstrings to tennis elbow, to sciatica, hip and back pain, achilles tendinitis, tension headaches, neck pain, frozen shoulder, rotator cuff injuries, carpal tunnel, plantar fasciitis and much more.
When a muscle is sore, over strained or painful, there are often tight palpable knots within it. These points can affect other areas of the body and are called motor points. There is another type of point in sports medicine acupuncture called called a trigger point, which may be used depending on your type of injury.

Sports medicine acupuncture/dry needling seeks to produce an involuntary twitching from the affected muscle or muscle group. It helps to restore communication between the central nervous system and the injured muscle.

This treatment can greatly reduce tightness and pain, while increasing flexibility and range of motion. Tired and weakened muscles can be strengthened by directing Qi (energy) to the area.

I am driven by my passion to help others. I wholeheartedly believe that everyone deserves to live a healthy and balanced existence. By educating my patients on health, exercise, nutrition and how Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine can help, I believe this goal of lifelong wellness can be achieved.

I love to cook and firmly believe that food is medicine. I connect with nature through walks with my dog and ambling through the woods on a horse. Swimming and meditation are the two of the ways I bring myself back to center. I balance my work life with adventure and travel.

I graduated from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2000 where I studied acupuncture, Chinese herbs, and nutrition. I am accredited and licensed both statewide and nationally. I studied Acupuncture Sports Medicine with renowned teachers such as Matt Callison, L.Ac., John Steinke, L.Ac., Whit Reeves, L.Ac., and Richard Tan, OMD. I am currently finishing a comprehensive sports medicine acupuncture program and certification. Additional studies include: muscle testing, whole food nutrition and women’s health and fertility.
